Edwin R. DuBose is Senior Ethics Consultant and Director of Clinical Ethics for Advocate Health Care in Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. in religious studies, with an emphasis on medical ethics, from Rice University, and a M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School. His articles have appeared in medical, public health, and religious journals, such as the American Journal of Public Health, Pediatric AIDS, and the Christian Century. He is the author of The Illusion of Trust: Towards a Medical Theological Ethics in a Postmodern Age; Physician-Assisted Suicide: Religious and Public Policy Perspectives; and co-author of Organizational Ethics in Health Care: Principles, Cases, and Practical Solutions. He is co-editor of A Matter of Principles: Ferment in U.S. Bioethics and Must We Suffer Our Way to Death: Cultural and Theological Perspectives on Death by Choice.
